Renovations in my Gypsy Sanctuary and A GIVEAWAY?!?!

Hello beautiful people!

I have created :)

I have created a gift for my lovely step mom Nancy, who is really one of the kindest souls on the planet.

She loves Inukshuks.  If you don't know what Inukshuks are I direct you here because I am pretty sure Wikipedia can explain it better than me.

I created this with love for her birthday, and she LOVED it.  I was thrilled, because I am really amateur (at least I feel like I am) with art, and feel like I am still dipping my toes in it.

On Friday night my dad, Nancy, and I all went four wheeling through the forest at night.  We went all the way to the Native reserve and had dinner at the restaurant there.  It was really very magical.  The trees and snow.  We went for miles.  I love nature, it makes me feel so very connected to the great "is-ness".

But I am so glad I dove right into using my little studio.  I think I will be able to be found in there later tonight.  Creating my little heart's desires and making them real :)

I have been feeling particularly WITCHY of late.  In the best possible way.  I am always a witch (and a princess :)) but sometimes I just feel witchier than usual.  I am sure ladies can all understand ;)

So I have done a couple of things to my witchy room, or my gypsy dressing room as you all know it.  It needed seating, because it has a tv and dvd player.  I find I don't spend enough time in a room if it has no seating, or entertainment.  And I of course want to use both of my spaces to their utmost wonderfulness.  So I went into the garage and dragged this out.

It's an ancient, forest green, wicker love seat.  And it was filthy.  And it probably breaks a little more every time I sit on it.  HAHA!  But I kind of love it.  I've attacked it with fuschia silk, and a multicolored afghan crocheted by my mother in her teens.  I also have a home (finally) for the amazingly bohemian pillow I bought ages ago.  Isn't it amazing?!  The pillow, it's hard as rock but soooo pretty.

I also now have a place to read fortunes from.  Did you all know that about me?  I read tarot, and a crystal ball, and tea leaves, and palms.  I am quite good, or so I have been told ;)

I also strung some orange lights around the window.  They're a bit tacky... let's be honest.  But I can't help it.  The glow they add to the room is worth the tack.

Yep, as you can see things are always changing around here.  This seems to have turned into a decor blog for eccentrics, as well as an art blog HAHA!

Now onto what I am sure you've all been waiting for:

I would just love to issue a HUGEEEE thank you to all of the lovely folks that stop in here and send me love and kindness.

You have no idea how much it means to me and how much I appreciate all the beautiful support and acceptance I have gotten in this art blogging world.

I have found sharing my pieces in the real world to be a tempestuous choice, while sharing it here was practically a no brainer.  I have gotten nothing but positivity and kindness.

In order to thank you lovely people, I am offering the opportunity to win a little prize from me.  Unfortunately it's a little small, because if I'd added everything I WANTED to add the shipping would have been ridiculous.

Here are the pressies!

An Iron Fairies Soy Candle, a little gypsy box, and a silver fleur de lis necklace.

The rules (sorry, there always have to be rules) are:

1 - You must be a follower of my blog
2 - You must tweet / facebook / blog about my giveaway (pretty please)
3 - You must tell me what your favourite magically related movie is!
4 - If you are under 18 you must ask your parents permission before entering

Simply let me know in your comment that you'd like to be entered, and what your favourite magical movie is.  This giveaway is of course, international.

I will be drawing a winner (it's the fairest way) and announce the results in one week, so next Sunday!

Lots of love,
Jenn

Okay, I never win these things, but I figure that I should try just in case. So I do. And even if I don't win, at least it's something to look forward to later in the week, haha! Okay, so my favorite magical movie is....the Disney Alice in Wonderland! I just love it :) (Or Mary Poppins, haha!) I know, I am a freakazoid. But that's okay! Hello, Jenn
I will be delighted to post your sweet giveaway on my blog! Yes, you know I am a follower. I have some Alice in Wonderland tarot cards I purchased on Etsy for an enormous price...I learned how to read them from the instructions which were enclosed. It is quite fascinating as most of my readings basically were right on with what was happening in my life. One of the readings said I was at a cross roads in my life and there was really nothing I could do about an on going circumstance which I just had to grin and bear it as I was at an empasse with one of the most important person's in my life. But that I was going to be blessed beyond measure for my patience in the scenario. Darn! I am human after all! Ha! I did have my palm read one time, against my will, by a girl who was very uncanny and she freaked my out when I was about 8 years old. BUT...she was right on with so many things, even knowing the name of the man I was to marry! Her name was Jean. And, no, it was not Jean Dixon, but there was something about her name. And I know there are very gifted people who have abilities who really do know what they are doing. So, I am fascinated that you read the crystal ball, and the tarot, and also palms. Amazing is what I say.
Oh, and please do enter me in your giveaway!
Smiles to you ; )

I love what you've done with your space! The little loveseat looks cozy with that blanket and pillow on it!

I adore tarot! And runes. Those are my two favorite tools. I've been feeling the need to find my next tarot deck. Any suggestions?

I love soy candles. :) Fingers crossed. I am a follower, I posted this on facebook, and my favorite magical movie is definitely Practical Magic!
In fact, I'm hosting a Practical Magic Sleepover (for my sister who is moving to Japan next month). It's our favorite movie so I thought it would be fun to base a going away party around it. We will be doing tarot reading, making Midnight Margaritas, and of course I bought her a tigers eye stone as a special gift! Fun times.

Thanks for hosting such a fun giveaway!

How very lovely! I never knew about Inksuks, thanks for teaching me something.

I quite enjoy your gypsy quarters. Being eccentric is way more interesting than not being eccentric!

Hope you have a great rest of the week!

Cameron sent me over here and when I saw a blog title that involved magic, make believe and mischief then I knew I was in the right place.

Fave movie is Stardust.

I know you didn't ask, but magical book is Garden Spells (I forget the author... Sarah Addison Lee I think??).

Lovely to find you. Don't need to enter me for the giveaway - give it to someone who has been a loyal follower!

Hi Beautiful!
The painting you made for your stepmom is just gorgeous - and I am fascinated by the Inukshuks. Your trip through the woods sounds like so much fun!

Your gypsy room is so cozy - what a sweet place for a young lady to sit and meditate (or watch a magical movie on dvd) - every princess needs one!

I have too many favorite magical movies - but I'd have to say Legend, Labyrinth and the Last Unicorn (loved the book, too!) But then there is Practical Magic...I love the house in that movie! And, of course, all the movies based on the Harry Potter books and Lord of the Rings books! =)

Hugs to you!
