Shiny Blessings Far and Wide

Dearest friends,

I hope your Christmas was, shall we say, peaceful?

I found myself searching for peace a lot this year, what with the hustle and bustle I think I felt my first true adult Christmas, a bah hum bug need for a bit of alone time!

Have you got frosted window panes where you are?

I was very blessed this Christmas with family and some gifts from loved ones (and myself).

At the beginning of the season I bought myself some new decks and crystals, to go with this giant palmistry hand my mother bought me for Christmas.

Mom surprised me with one of these Ever After High School dolls.  I know, I'm a grown up but oh so cute!  She is the daughter of the Evil Queen!

And much art supplies have been brought to my studio.

Along with a magical way to mark down the events of the New Year:

And cute fluffy things from my own Mister.

That's Pudding the Panda and Snowflake the Teddy right there ;)

My spaces scented with glorious carnival smells

And one of the kindest gifts of all, from a friend who seems to knows me better than I know myself.

Thank you one and all for making Yule magical and glittery!

Blessings,
Jennifer

Strange Little Girls

Dearest friends,

I have found myself with a fair bit of free time recently and am experiencing a surge of creative energy.

Do you ever get like that?  Just have to create and organize, and reinvent your artistic self?

I've been feeling a calling towards painting these girls.

Each represents a tiny tiny piece of my fantasy self I think.

Astrid the Astronomer

Fiona and her Fairycake Fascinator

Penelope the Pirate Queen

Sweet girls, pieces of magical folk art.

Not sure if I can part with them in put them in my shop ;)

This will probably be my last post before Christmas so I wish everyone the happiest of holidays.  I'll be back soon with some magical treasures to share :)

Blessings,
Jennifer

Crystals and Fairy Glitter

Dearest sparkly, fanciful friends,

How have you been?  Has the holiday season been crazy for you or relaxing?

I have to admit, having done my Christmas shopping, wrapping, and all other work VERY early this year, it is time for me to relax.

I love the Yuletide time and want to be able to luxuriate and bask in every shimmering and cozy moment of it.

I am sharing my little tree next to my work desk that is covered in monochrome teddies and snowmen.  Mickey and Minnie just seem like a cozy, child-like, Christmassy pair to be sitting underneath the tree.

I've been indulging myself in a little bit of crystal collecting.  I have so many recent orders I've been waiting and waiting to blog about, but the mail is slow due to the holiday rush I'd imagine!  I have several large specimens sitting on my fortune telling desk, a lapis lazuli, amethyst, quartz crystal and citrine!  Along with a beautiful polished stone from the magical tidal Bay of Fundy.

I wanted a gorgeous place to store some of my smaller stones, so I got to painting and created this circus fortune teller themed pastel box.

Sometimes it is so fun to create something that you know is just for yourself, you can take any liberties you wish and make something perfectly you.  Shades of mint, buttercream yellow and seashell pink with iridescent sparkles.

While melting deliciously scented candy cane wax melts in this beautiful butterfly warmer!

Tell me what is your favourite festive scent?  Candles, pot pourri, oils, wax melts, body products?

I'm loving Twisted Peppermint by Bath and Body Works this month!

Brightest blessings friends,
Jennifer

Cressida and the Christmas Pudding

Hi friends!

I do hope all of my American friends had a lovely Thanksgiving.

I have been so very organized getting everything done so I will be able to relax during December!

Some winter cleaning, finishing up assignments, wrapping gifts (my shopping has been done since October haha!)

We just threw away two big huge boxes of old Christmas junk.  I'm an organizing freak and my mom doesn't care as much about it.  When we put up the decorations this year I made sure we got rid of all the junk from Christmas pasts.

I have decorated my altar with lights and a tree.  I have two in my room alone!

I have created a new primitive folk art piece for Yule and Christmas, based on English Christmas desserts and sweet cooking ladies.

'Cressida and the Christmas Pudding'

Cressida is available in my Etsy shop!

Clickable link below and in the left sidebar for primitive art treats, tarot readings and magic spells!

Hope everyone is having a lovely holiday season, and the snow fairies are visiting many of you!

Much love and brightest blessings,
Jennifer

Enchanted Treats and Sparkly Things

Hi friends!

How is the festive season treating you?  Any snow appearing in your neck of the woods?

We keep getting some magical snow that keeps melting!  I love every season for what it's worth, but there's something about the coziness of snow that makes me feel happy.

I think we should be celebrating yuletide things well into January just so we get the adequate supply of snow to go with it!  My apologies to those who don't get any snow at all, but I think Christmas in some place like New Orleans would be delightful as well.

I've added sparkly stars above my head while I sleep!  The blue ones are made in India and have a gorgeous paisley design on them.

I also received this lovely treat in the mail from Debi at Puddleduck Grange just before Halloween.  How beautiful is this enchanting blue-skinned vampiress?!  I just love her.  You are such a talent Miss Debi!

And some sparkly jewel treasures from a marvellous and magical Etsy shop called Lotus Fairy

How wonderful, tarot card ring, a ouija board ring!  The eyes (except the eye of horus) are from ebay!

And this mystical necklace with the astrological symbols on it!  So perfect for a fortune teller.

I have been listening to and taking so much inspiration from Miss Stevie Nicks.  I just love her gorgeous sorceress style, I've been buying so many gypsy-chic clothing pieces trying to emulate her fabulousness!

I've been doing a bunch of yuletide decorating.  The stockings for Mr. Jamie and I are hanging on my fireplace and a Leaves candle from Bath and Body Works (best, most cinnamon apple smell ever) burning on top!

I have been working very hard on my term papers but had to return to mystical magical land to take a peek at your beautiful blogs, and share some of my recent comings and goings as well.

I've been feeling very invigorated recently as I have decided to pursue a master's degree in History, and will be working on my first thesis next year!

I also wanted to mention my beautiful friend Sara of Snovits Apple has created her own etsy shop!  Her shop is filled with beautiful wearable jewelry and art, and every piece has a description and story that will take you away to some magical place!  Next sale in my shop means I can purchase a piece I have my eye on ;)

Hope you're all having a gorgeous November.  I'll be back soon ;)

Lots of love,
Jennifer

A Fanciful Twist Halloween Party 2013 & Giveaway!!!

Dearest friends,

The time has come again, I am joining Miss Vanessa at A Fanciful Twist for her 6th annual Halloween extravaganza, my 3rd year participating!

This year, I thought I'd simple things up a lot, and give you the grand tour of the witchy herself's lair!

That's right!  As a real practicing professional witch (and psychic reader) I thought this could be one of the more genuine Halloween experiences you could have.

I keep my staff and broom beside my bed in case I need to take flight or do some casting in the middle of the night ;)

Always a warm (electric) fire in my hearth.  Gotta welcome in lost souls in need of a little bit of guidance.

Where the witch beautifies and dazzles.

A little headless horseman for good measure!

Oh a sweet new witchy friend I have made!

The second film in the Halloweentown series always stuck with me when the young Kal says to Marnie "Most people's rooms look like them"  THIS IS ALWAYS MY GOAL!  I want my space to be an extension of me.

Crystals and a little hoodoo love spell working I did for a customer ;)

When you purchase a dash of magic from me, this is where it is all performed, my sacred space.

And this my lovelies is where I perform all of my psychic readings!

Hope you enjoyed this casual party, a bewitching tour of my space!

Now for a giveaway!  All who comment will be entered, but if you want to follow me that's cool too ;)

I am giving away a three card 1 question tarot reading from my shop Broomsticks and Lace Etsy (link is clickable if you want to take a lookie for a art, magic spells, and readings)

Thank you muchly to Miss V for being the hostess with the mostest as always!  Do stop by all the other partiers by heading back to www.afancifultwist.com!!!
