A Visit to Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade

Dear friends,

I have flown to Florida and am now back in my Northern Kingdom.  There is nothing like home sweet home, and I am so happy to be back.  I adore taking trips and going on adventures, but there is nothing quite like home.  As Bilbo Baggins says "It's a dangerous business going out your door.  You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to."

In my case I was swept off to a world of riding fire-breathing dragons and broomsticks, where mermaids dwell in lakes and owls carry the mail.

Where English style cottages are snow-capped in 90 degree heat.

And colourful sweets line the shelves of Honeyduke's.

Wizardly snowmen in Gryffindor scarves remind us of Christmas at Hogwarts.

Where ancient castles house school children.

And a witch stirring a cauldron signifies a place to stop for a drink.

Owls carry the mail from a tower of windows.

Magical books are stacked higher than the sky. (Flourish and Blotts was unfortunately not a store you could actually enter to this Ravenclaw's dismay.)

Weasley's Wizard Wheezes come to life.

And a magical menagerie keeps animals in cages suspended from the ceiling.

Wiseacre's Wizarding Equipment has my dream decor!

Gringott's sits with a fire breathing dragon atop its highest tower.

Gringott, the founder of Gringott's bank, the safest place in the world, is commemorated in a statue outside.

All aboard the Hogwarts Express!

I hope you enjoyed this journey to the world of Harry Potter with me!  I had an amazing time in Orlando, and I will share pictures of my visit to Disney in the near future!

Love from,
